OTTAWA – The LaSalle County Health Department on Monday announced that rapid COVID-19 testing is available for those that are eligible. Employees who need a negative test to return to work, travelers, or symptomatic children who are not a close contact to a confirmed case who need to return to school are all able to get the rapid test. If you are a close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 , however, you are not eligible for the rapid test. Instead, you will have to use the PCR test which will be sent to a lab and you will be notified of the results. Authorities also note that individuals who are under quarantine need to remain in quarantine for 14 days even if they receive a negative test.
