Pump prices are the cheapest since 2016

UNDATED – The national gas price average is at its cheapest since 2016 at $2.17 per gallon. According to the American Automobile Association, pump prices continue to decline around the country as oil prices have decreased significantly in response to the increasing public health and economic impact of COVID-19 and the crude price war between Russia and Saudi Arabia. Locally, Putnam County has the cheapest gas prices at $1.94 per gallon. LaSalle comes second at $1.97 and Bureau County, $2.11 per gallon.
