STREATOR – A memorial service for former Streator Mayor Jimmie Landsford will be held at City Park this weekend. The family and friends of Former Mayor Lansford are making arrangements to have a public service on Saturday at 11 am at Plumb Pavillion in City Park. Streator City Manager Dave Plyman says Lansford was a phenomenal individual who dedicated his life to Streator and will be deeply missed. Lansford passed away in January 2022 at the age of 82. He served as Streator’s mayor from 2010 to 2021. Lansford also worked at the former St. Mary’s Hospital in Streator for over 30 years. He served in the United States Marines and the United States Army including a tour in Viet Nam.
