Former Princeton High School coach pleads guilty to sexual abuse

PRINCETON – A former Princeton High School coach accused of having sexual relations with a student entered a plea deal on Tuesday. According to Bureau County State’s Attorney Geno Caffarini, the 27-year-old softball coach and custodian, Brik Wedekind pleaded guilty to aggravated criminal sexual abuse in a Bureau County Circuit Court hearing. Caffarini says Wedekind will be registered as a sex offender for life, serve 90 days in jail and up to four years of probation.
