MENDOTA – The Chief of Police of Mendota will be honored as the Grand Marshal of the 2018 Sweet Corn Festival Parade this coming Sunday. Chief Tom Smith has been leading the Mendota Police Department 20 years. Originally from Evanston, he began his law enforcement career in 1975. On February 20, 2019, Chief Tom Smith will retire after 43 years in Law Enforcement.
