Peru Police Consider Adding Part-Time Officers

PERU – Peru Police Chief Doug Bernabei discussed the possibility of hiring part-time police officers in the future. Three ordinances were amended and approved at Monday’s city council meeting, which would implement the process of hiring part-time officers. Bernabei assured the public that these officers would not take away hours from the full-time officers, but would help them out during the early afternoon when the department is the busiest.
