SPARLAND – A vehicle crash north of Sparland took the life of a Peoria man, and injured others on Sunday. According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, on Sunday just before 3 p.m. a vehicle driven by 68-year-old Donald Burhans of Peoria, was traveling South of Route 29 near Sparland, when it collided with 23-year-old Jake Weavers’ vehicle, traveling north. According to authorities Weaver told deputies that Burhans had crossed over into his lane of traffic. Burhans was transported to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Weaver and his passenger were also taken to local area hospitals with unknown injuries. The incident in a pending investigation by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.
