ROCHELLE – An Aurora man is dead after being struck by a vehicle along I-39 in rural Lee County. The Illinois State Police say that just after midnight Monday a Mendota woman was traveling southbound in an SUV near mile marker 92 when she reportedly struck a man in the roadway. She was not injured, but 35-year-old Juan Moreno of Aurora was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say no vehicle was located in the area associated with the victim and they are still investigating how he came to be in the roadway.
