Pedestrian Identified by State Police in Fatal 80 Collision

JOLIET – The Illinois State Police have positively identified the pedestrian that was killed on August 12th in Will County walking along I-80. Authorities say 69-year-old James D. Oostdyk of Joliet was struck and killed by a vehicle while walking on the westbound side of the interstate early on Sunday, August 12th. The Will County Coroner pronounced him deceased at the scene. It was not known why Oostdyk was walking on the roadway and no other information is available at this time.
