Peaceful Walkout Held at Area Schools

LASALLE – On the one month anniversary of the school shooting in Parkland, Florida a walk out of area students from schools was held starting at 10 AM Wednesday morning. Faculty and students gathered outside of LaSalle-Peru High School to read off the names of those killed and have a moment of silence. Using a bullhorn, other students gave speeches on issues of school security and guns in society. The walk out was part of a nationwide series of protests and one of many at area schools.
