Pair of Fires in Depue Kept Responders Busy Labor Day

 

DEPUE – Multiple agencies swarmed into the Bureau County community of Depue during the Labor Day holiday for a pair of unrelated structure fires.  The first was a five alarm blaze in the 1100 block of Marquette Street around 1 PM, the second after 3 PM in the 12000 block of 2775th East Road.   Residents of both locations were displaced and were being tended to by the American Red Cross.    Depue, Spring Valley, Peru, Bureau, Ladd, Seatonville, Princeton, Hennepin, Arlington, Malden, Standard, Wyanet, Tiskikwa, LaMoille,  Cherry, Cedar Point, Utica Fire Departments and EMS plus 10/33 Ambulance and Bureau County Sheriffs Department we’re among the many agencies fighting the fires.

 The Depue Fire Department mentioned on social media that they used 125,500 gallons of water to supply Peru’s tower apparatus and an unknown amount of water to supply the other engines at the scene on Marquette Street.
