OTTAWA – A 5-part documentary series that aired on PBS that earned an Emmy last year is up for additional awards this weekend in Chicago. “A Golden Cross to Bear: A Story of the 33rd Division in World War 1” is nominated for 7 Emmy® awards in the 61st Annual Chicago / Midwest Emmy Award Gala Saturday. Director and Producer Kane Farabaugh’s film covers the experience of Gustave Amm in Europe. This year, Gustave’s grandson, retired Ottawa High School teacher Roger Amm, is nominated for best on-camera talent as a program correspondent for his role as the series host, exploring the service and sacrifice of the thousands of Illinois men who answered the call to serve in the “war to end all wars.”
