OTTAWA – PADS Shelter will have to seek out other locations in Ottawa for its homeless shelter addition. On Tuesday night per the recommendation of the Ottawa Plan Commission, the council voted against a permit for the new shelter proposed at 401 E. McKinley Road. Ottawa officials agreed that the location for the new shelter isn’t suitable and pledged to work with Executive Director Carol Alcorn and the PADS board to find a better location.
