One death, five new Bureau County COVID-19 infections including an infant

PRINCETON- The Bureau, Putnam, & Marshall County Health Departments reported Saturday five new COVID-19 infections, including an infection in an infant, and one COVID-19 related death, a woman in her 80’s.   The Illinois Department of Public Health notes that three residents or staff of the St. Margaret’s Living Center in Spring Valley have also tested positive.

“It is with deep sadness that we report this information today” said Hector Gomez, Health Department Administrator. “In this period of increased local Covid-19 activity it is not possible to over-emphasize the importance of physical distancing, masks and paying attention to crowd sizes for persons of all ages. We all need to work together to protect the vulnerable members of our counties.”

The new COVID-19 cases are recovering at home in Bureau County:

· One male infant

· One female child

· One female in her 20’s

· One male in his 30’s

· One female in her 70’s

Since the pandemic began 79 out of the 194 individuals with coronavirus in the county have fully recovered.  Three individuals have died.
