Oklahoma woman arrested after allegedly taking dog at rest area


PAW PAW – An Oklahoma woman was arrested and charged with theft after allegedly taking a dog at a rest area in Lee County along I-39. The Illinois State Police say on September 5th around 9:30 AM they were called to the Willow Creek Southbound Rest Area near Paw Paw for a report of stolen dog. Authorities say that an exotic Bully Dog named Diablo inadvertently freed himself from his owner’s parked vehicle and was allegedly taken by 23-year-old woman from Okmulgee, Oklahoma.  The dog was located with the woman  in LaSalle County and she was arrested. Diablo was reunited with his owner.   The woman was released on a recognizance bond.
