Ogle County food processor ordered to close due to outbreak

ROCHELLE – A food processing facility has been ordered to temporarily shut down in Ogle County after 24 employees allegedly tested positive for COVID-19.   The Ogle County Health Department on Friday announced that the Hormel Foods plant in Rochelle will have to be closed for two weeks.

“My team has spent countless hours in collaboration with Rochelle Foods in an attempt to mitigate the virus spread” said Kyle Aumen, Ogle Country Health Administer.  “Since these efforts were unsuccessful, it is my duty to order a complete closure of the facility”
