National Weather Service confirms Tornado struck Ottawa Monday

OTTAWA – The National Weather Service has confirmed an EF-1 Tornado with max winds of 100 MPH moved through parts of Ottawa Monday.  The widespread damage of the Derecho has made it tough for the weather service to identify all possible tracks of the outbreak that occurred with the storm.   They say the Ottawa twister was on the ground briefly, following the I&M Canal from Fulton Street to the Fox River.   Buildings and vehicles received significant damage, but no injuries were reported.
