Morris Police warn of con-artists possibly scamming after industrial fire

Morris Police Cycle – File Photo Studstill Media

MORRIS – The Morris Police Department are warning residents that con-artists may attempt to swindle those who have experienced hardships during the evacuation from the battery warehouse fire.   They say there may be vendors traveling door to door claiming to be from insurance companies or clean up crews. Authorities say if you didn’t call the company to your address, please ask them for their solicitor permit. Specialized clean up crews are most likely not necessary, according to the Morris Police Department.   They say soap and water is all that is needed to clean items from your household. Officials note that if solicitors do not have a permit you should contact the police immediately.
