PERU – A child was reported missing late Friday night, but after an area search was discovered safe in Peru. More details are expected to be released later, but near the 2400 block of Plum Street a young child had reportedly gotten up during the night and wandered outside. Police, Fire, ESDA and volunteers searched for over two hours when the child was found asleep but perfectly fine.
Peru Police Chief Doug Bernabei said in a statement “We treated this call as the highest of priority and would do the same again. We will never under react when it comes to the people that we must protect the most. The young, the elderly and others who can be vulnerable will always be that priority.”
