Mendota Fire Chief applauds workers of last weeks snow storm, more snow expected tonight

MENDOTA – Mendota Fire Chief Dennis Rutishauser commended departments for braving the ice and snow storms to serve residents, last week. On Tuesday of last week, North central Illinois was hit with an aggressive wintry mix of rain, snow and wind gusts that took out power lines throughout the LaSalle County area. Rutishauser thanked Com Ed especially for the quick turn around in repairing lines. Com Ed reported over a thousand power lines down. At exactly a week later, a winter weather advisory strikes again bringing more freezing rain and snow expected for tonight into Wednesday.
