Marseilles honors dispatchers for life saving work


MARSEILLES – The Marseilles Police Chief and the City Council honored men and women who acted to save the life of a resident last week. Dispatchers Stacy Fuentes, Jacqueline Boyer and Don Fransisco were able to respond quickly to administer CPR instructions over the phone to Kaylee White, the daughter of the victim of the heart attack. Also honored were other first responders, including Detective Mike Byrd, Paramedics Stephanie Brewer, Ben Lakan, Jake Waikus and Geo Richter, as well as EMT Wes Budach who rendered aid to the victim via CPR and the Lucas device. They went on to thank Fire Chief Dave Parrott and firefighters Larry Cowie, Jeff Owens, and Travis Johnson. Mayor Jim Hollenbeck, who is also the deputy fire chief, was given an award as well for helping at the scene and clearing snow to enable responders to get in.
