Man lifeflighted after suffering head injury

MENDOTA – Authorities say a man in his 30’s working around heavy equipment suffered a head injury Saturday night near Mendota and had to be airlifted.   Mendota Fire Chief Dennis Rutishauser said that they were called before midnight to the 100 block of 36th Road for a man who had sustained what was described as a large laceration to the head.   The man was said to be alert, but was flown to Peoria from the scene.   His current condition was not available.
