MENDOTA – A man is in custody after allegedly breaking into a home in Mendota on Friday morning. According to the Mendota Police Department, at 2 a.m. they were called to the 300 block of 9th Avenue for a male subject gaining entry into a residence. Police say occupants woke up to find 25-year-old Johnico T. Costello of Mendota in their home. Costello was charged with criminal trespass to a residence and taken to the LaSalle County Jail.
