UNDATED – Without a doubt, high school sports have endured a perilous journey this year during the coronavirus pandemic. It was just a few weeks ago when the IHSA gave the highly anticipated green light for sports to resume. The big announcement included high-risk categorized boys and girls basketball to compete and now local high school athletic directors say, “so far so good”. At LaSalle-Peru High School, Athletic Director Dan Le (LEE) says communication with other athletic directors in their conference has been vital along with kids and coaches doing their best to adhere to guidelines. Streator High School’s Athletic Director, Rory Bedeker is happy to report a similar situation. Bedeker says he’s been fortunate so far and hasn’t had to shut any groups down. He also credits teams for complying with masks.
