PONTIAC – The Livingston County Health Department will be assisting in
the collection of unused tires in an effort to reduce mosquito breeding grounds. According to Environmental Health Director, Donnie Simmons, loose tires are notorious breeding grounds for mosquitoes and often fill with stagnant water and leaves making them perfect environments for mosquitoes to thrive. Tires are limited to passenger cars and trucks, 4 tires per household or vehicle, and an appointment is required. You can contact the Livingston County Environmental Health Division to schedule a tire drop-off.
