UNDATED – Today marks the start of Overdose Awareness Week and local organizations are getting together to be a beacon of hope after a tough year. The Centers for Disease Control data has shown a 30% increase in overdose deaths nationwide between 2019 and 2020 and LaSalle County continues to rank high in overdose death rates in Illinois. This year the Perfectly Flawed Foundation is encouraging communities to show their support by illuminating their residences and businesses with a purple light. This Saturday Budy’s Purpose will have their 10th annual walk beginning at 10 am to noon in Cherry.
