Light your porches purple to support Overdose Awareness Week

 
LASALLE – Local organizations are getting together to be a beacon of hope during Overdose Awareness Week and ask the community to do so as well by lighting porches of homes and businesses purple. Luke Tomsha, founder of The Perfectly Flawed Foundation along with Buddy’s Purpose are encouraging the community to donate to the cause and pick up a ribbon and purple light at their office located at 240 1st Street in LaSalle.
 

 
The Centers for Disease Control data has shown a 28% increase in overdose deaths nationwide compared to last year’s numbers and LaSalle County continues to rank high in overdose death rates in Illinois.
