LaSalle implements rules for food trucks

LASALLE – LaSalle’s City Council approved a number of rules for food trucks that wish to vend in the city. At Monday night’s council meeting, city Attorney presented several ordinances previously discussed to be approved for food truck sales.

Mobile food vendors will only be allowed in the city for private parties or special events including parks and downtown but will not be allowed to sell to anyone outside the function.  Other than private parties or special events, trucks are allowed outside of the central business district for up to 12 times a year so long as they have an agreement with a brick and mortar business where they will vend and the city approves. Furthermore, permits will cost $600 per year per vendor, but will vary for special events.
