LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office Warns of Phone Scam

 
OTTAWA- The LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a recent phone scam in the area. Authorities say they have received numerous reports from individuals saying that they have received calls from supposed relatives requesting money for bond to get out of jail. The LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office said that in some instances, the caller has even known names of the victims’ family members. They are warning residents to verify all information prior to agreeing to sending anyone money over the phone.
