LaSalle County Deputy Found Dead Near Grand Ridge

GRAND RIDGE – A LaSalle County Sheriff’s Deputy has been found dead in his vehicle, but no foul play is suspected. That’s according to a release Saturday from the LaSalle County Sheriff’s Office. They say that a deputy had not responded to radio calls Saturday and other officers located him in his vehicle five miles east of Grand Ridge. LaSalle County Coroner William Wujek identified the officer as Deputy Brian Underwood, 40, of Marseilles. The Illinois State Police are investigating the incident and an autopsy is scheduled.
