LaSalle County Board to decide on marijuana business in unincorporated parts

OTTAWA – LaSalle County’s Zoning Board of Appeals isn’t recommending that marijuana businesses be allowed to operate in unincorporated parts of the county. On Monday evening, zoning members voted nay to allowing cannabis businesses of any kind in either agriculture or business districts in the unincorporated parts of the county, however it will be up to the full county board to decide. If the LaSalle County Board doesn’t vote in favor of zoning, they have also recommended regulations like businesses being strictly allowed in Industrial-1 districts, affidavits filed annually and a 500 feet restriction from residential properties.
