STREATOR – A Streator resident is proposing modifications to the city’s rental inspection program. A rental property owner presented their concerns regarding the program, claiming its a violation of privacy. A list of suggestions was presented for Streator city officials to review at their next committee of a whole meeting. Some suggestions included having the homeowner or rental owner pay for a certified private inspector, allow for virtual walk-through inspections and offer landlords a 0% loan to complete maintenance repairs if any.
