Keeping the colors flying in Mendota

MENDOTA- A resident in Mendota who wasn’t able to keep a flag flying now had one back on his flagpole after a neighbor took notice.   On Saturday, Lonny Eisenberg noticed that the home on the corner near 13th Ave did not have a flag raised in the yard as it had in years past.  Eisenberg, who spent 8 years in the Navy, including time during Desert Storm, knew he had a spare flag to lend.  His wife Angel captured the moment on video.

“I’m a vet so I like our flag on display any day, anytime.  I just knew our neighbor flew his flag all the time and I noticed it was missing and knew this elderly gentlemen had been under the weather.  I had an extra flag in the house and thought he’d appreciate it” Eisenberg said Monday.
