IVCH Auxiliary Awards Scholarships

PERU – Five students pursuing college degrees in nursing and other healthcare-related fields are the recipients of scholarships totaling $5,000 from the Illinois Valley Community Hospital Auxiliary.
Recipients of the $1,000 awards include:
Melissa Mata of Peru, who received the Ruth Daniels Scholarship. She is a nurse in the IVCH day surgery unit who is enrolled in the family nurse practitioner program at the Mennonite College of Nursing at Illinois State University.
Madison Aimone of Utica, a University of Iowa student who is considering a career in radiology, ophthalmology or audiology.
Gwen King of Granville, an employee in the IVCH transitional care office who is pursuing a degree in Health Services Coordination through Western Governors University.
Vanessa Rosales of Peru, an IVCH endoscopy tech who is also a nursing student at Illinois Valley Community College. She eventually wants to be a certified registered nurse anesthetist.
Jenna Lusietto of Arlington, who is enrolled in the nursing program at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa.
IVCH employees and their children are eligible to apply for Auxiliary scholarships, which are awarded annually. The scholarships are funded with money raised by the Auxiliary through fundraisers and sales in the hospital gift shop.
