Illinois Tops 1,000 New Cases for Third Straight Day

SPRINGFIELD – Illinois saw another 1,000 plus day of new Covid-19 cases on Saturday.  According to the Illinois Department of Public Health, 1,195 people have been confirmed to have contracted the virus since Friday afternoon.  That’s less than Friday’s 1,317 cases, and the last three days has had the highest 3 day average in new cases since early June.  Twenty Four additional Illinoisans have died from the Coronavirus in the past 24 hours, and 32,345 new tests were administered on Saturday.
