Illinois River reaches voluntary evacuation level in Marseilles

MARSEILLES- The Illinois River in Marseilles has exceeded the flood height for voluntary evacuations after a series of weekend rains.  The Marseilles Police department said Monday that the river level is above the 23 foot voluntary evacuation mark, and is expected to crest at over 24 feet.  The mandatory evacuation of portions of Marseilles occurs at 24.5 feet.
