SPRINGFIELD – 28 Illinois counties were announced to be at a warning level for COVID-19, reported the IDPH Friday. A county is placed on a warning level when two or more COVID-19 risk indicators increase, such as number of deaths, clusters, and new cases per 100,000 people. Among these counties are DeKalb, Livingston, and Putnam counties. The health department also reported 2,206 additional cases of COVID-19, along with 47 deaths on Friday, the highest daily death count since late June.
