Illinois Logs 10,009 Confirmed & Probable Virus Cases Sunday

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health on Sunday reported 10,009 new coronavirus cases on Sunday.  It is the third day that the state has had over 10,000 cases, and the third day the state has used new CDC reporting guidelines of adding together both cases that are confirmed by laboratory tests or probable by meeting clinical criteria and epidemiologically linked.  The state also said that 42 additional people have died from complications related to COVID-19.
Sunday’s deaths, by county and age:

  • Champaign County: 1 female 50s, 1 male 60s
  • Cook County: 1 male 30s, 1 female 50s, 2 females 60s, 3 males 60s, 1 male 70s, 3 females 80s, 8 males 80s, 4 females 90s, 3 males 90s, 1 female 100+
  • DuPage County: 1 female 70s
  • Franklin County: 1 female 70s
  • Hancock County: 1 male 70s
  • Kane County: 1 female 80s
  • Lake County: 1 male 90s
  • LaSalle County: 1 female 90s
  • Macon County: 1 female 80s, 1 female 90s
  • Madison County: 1 female 80s
  • Moultrie County: 1 female 90s
  • Vermilion County: 1 male 80s
  • Will County: 1 male 80s
  • Winnebago County: 1 female 60s

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 487,987 cases, including 10,196 deaths, in 102 counties in Illinois.
