IHSA Passes Rule Changes; District Scheduling for Football

BLOOMINGTON – The Illinois High School Association approved eleven amendment proposals in the annual by-law referendum. Some major proposals included implementing a district scheduling system for football. According to IHSA, the football scheduling system would involve a 9-week regular season schedule, playoff classes determined in advance of the season, and schools from each class placed into 8 geographic groups by the IHSA Office to play a round-robin schedule. The proposal will take effect starting with the 2021 football season.
