SPRINGFIEND – An additional 1,384 cases of COVID-19 were confirmed in the state on Friday. This marks the most positive COVID-19 cases announced in a single day since June 2nd. The Illinois Department of Public Health also reported 22 more individuals had also passed away from complications related to COVID-19. Since the start of the pandemic, Illinois has had 159,334 cases of coronavirus with 7,272 deaths.
