IDPH reports 1,740 new COVID-19 cases

SPRINGFIELD – 1,740 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Illinois on Tuesday, as well as 27 additional deaths. The Illinois Department of Public Health reported that the state has seen 209,594 cases in total, along with 7,782. The IDPH also released a new COVID-19 travel map to help inform residents of the coronavirus case rates in different U.S. states and countries throughout the world. IDPH Director Dr. Ezike stated that this map clearly indicates what areas have increased case rates of coronavirus, and encouraged individuals to check the map before making plans to travel.
