SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,257 new cases of COVID-19, along with 25 additional deaths in the state. The IDPH has reported a total of 157,950 cases since the start of the pandemic with 7,251 deaths from complications related to COVID-19. As of Wednesday evening, officials report that 1,434 individuals in the state were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19, with 311 in the ICU and 127 on ventilators.
