State Police say one person has died in a Friday afternoon accident on I-80 in Grundy County. Police say a Chrysler Mini Van crashed into a box truck that had come to a stop because of traffic near Ridge Road. The driver of the minivan was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver’s name has not been released pending notification of next of kin. The driver and a passenger in the box truck refused medical attention. All lanes on I-80 eastbound were shut down and diverted into Ridge Road for a period of time.
