UNDATED – Since the outbreak of COVID-19, false news, remedies and scams have been circulating. The misinformation has come in the form of text messages and most popular for example,  Facebook users mentioning a nationwide lockdown. Scammers are also taking advantage of the pandemic panic. The Federal Trade Commission says to keep scammers at bay, don’t click on links from sources you don’t know and ignore online offers for vaccinations.
It is also important to watch for emails claiming to be from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or experts saying they have information about the virus.
