High Voting Turnouts for Illinois

SPRINGFIELD – Republican Bruce Rauner conceded his re-election bid to Democrat JB Pritzker in the Illinois Governors race on Tuesday. Statewide, 54 percent of voters voted in favor of Pritzker. LaSalle County received a total voter turnout of 57 percent, a number more than doubling that of Spring’s primary election with 23 percent. Bureau and Putnam County also had strong turnouts with nearly 58 percent turnout for Bureau, and 61 percent for Putnam. According to the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners, 56 percent total voter turnout for Chicago, makes the midterm election the highest since 1982.
