Gun; Drugs Recovered in Bureau County Traffic Stop

PERU – An Iowa man is in custody after the Illinois State Police discovered a loaded weapon and drugs during a traffic stop. According to the Illinois State Police during a Wednesday traffic stop at the Plank Road interchange with Interstate 80, a probable cause search of a vehicle was started. During the Troopers investigation, the passenger in the vehicle, 27-year-old Marcus Cobb of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, allegedly gave a false name when questioned. During the search it was found that the occupants were alledged to have a loaded 38 pistol, an open container of alcohol, and a small amount of cannabis. Cobb was charged with felony obstruction of Justice and Unlawful Use of a Weapon and taken to the Bureau County Jail.
