MENDOTA – Emily Kofoid, director of the Graves-Hume public library in Mendota spoke at the District 289 School Board meeting Thursday to talk about how a grant facilitated students outside of the city limits of Mendota to get library cards.  The grant enabled 102 library cards to be issued to families that live outside of the city limits but in the school district at $74 per family.   Kofoid also thanked the administration for having students visit during the last year, and wanted to remind the community that many activities the library offers do not require a library card, like special events and movie nights.
