Governor announces ‘Stay at Home’ order extension

SPRINGFIELD- Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker announced Thursday an extension to the statewide “Stay at Home” executive order that has been in place since March 21st.   Residents will be asked to limit non-essential travel until May 30th and continue social distancing.

The new executive order will allow on May 1st some changes from the previous five weeks.
Medical facilities will be allowed to begin scheduling elective procedures if specific safety and capacity requirements are met.   Retail stores that are non-essential will be allowed to offer pickup for phone and online orders, and some state parks will be allowed to be open, albeit limited.  The Governor also will be mandating masks be worn in public by those able to do so.
