Gas Pipeline Explodes Near Dixon, 2 Dead

NACHUSA – Two are dead and two injured after a natural gas pipeline explosion that sent flames and dark smoke into the air.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Department says the explosion happened about 9 a.m. Tuesday on a farm near Nachusa.
According to the Lee County Coroner two had died at the scene, with two others taken to a Rockford hospital with one in critical condition. The victims were installing drainage field tile near the pipeline before the incident.
The Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office also said that it has investigators at the scene.
