CHICAGO – A cold snap will move through North Central Illinois starting next week bringing temperatures well below normal for the first days of November. According to some models, a shot of arctic air will move south out of Canada starting on Monday behind a cold front that will settle in and get chillier as the week progresses. Matt Friedlein of the National Weather Service says confidence is high for a first freeze.
Friedlein predicts highs and lows for next week to be around ten degrees below normal. North-Central Illinoians can expect lows to drop below freezing, sticking around the mid-20s.
